Abdurakhmanov is the head of the department from 2016 to the present.

To date, the department has 10 staffs, including one doctor of chemistry, professor, 5 candidates of chemistry, associate professors, 1 candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, 2 senior teachers and 1 assistant. Currently, the scientific potential of the department is 60%.

The department conducts classes for first-year students in the fields of biology, ecology, biotechnology, soil science, technology of cultivation and processing of medicinal plants on the subject “Analytical Chemistry”, for 2nd year students of the Chemical Faculty on the subject “Analytical Chemistry” and “Chemistry of Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Chemistry "; for 4th year students in the subject "Methods of Physical Research."

The department has a specialized laboratory "Electrochemical methods of analysis"; "Methods of spectroscopic analysis", "Methods of chromatographic analysis"; "Thermochemical methods for gas analysis." The laboratory "Gas Analysis of Thermochemical Methods" was awarded the Certificate of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Professors and teachers of the department are working on the task “Creating tools and tools for managing environmental objects. Natural and secondary raw materials and its use in the national economy.  “The department prepares highly qualified analytical chemists for industrial enterprises and medical institutions, higher educational institutions, academic lyceums, colleges and secondary schools in the country.

As a result of the fruitful work of the faculty of the department, 3 textbooks, 3 teaching aids, more than 120 teaching aids and recommendations were published.

Professors and teachers of the department are currently conducting research on 1 state grant and 3 agricultural contracts.

In the department is working on the preparation of doctoral candidates for the degree of PhD in the direction of - 02.00.02 - analytical chemistry.
