The department includes 2 doctors of science, professors, 7 associate professors, 6 candidates of sciences, 2 senior teachers, and 11 assistants. The doctor of technical sciences and professor are I.I.Jumanov, A.R.Akhatov, PhD and associate professors are O.Dzhumanov, I.B.Aminov, I. Turakulov, S. Kobilov, S. Estemirov, A. Abdullaev, F. Nomozov, and senior teachers are H.Bustanov, A.Suyarov, as well as assistants are H. Karshiev, M. Aliyeva, S. Kholmonov, N. Sharapova, Z. Bekmuradov, A. Inatov, D. Mardonov, F. Nazarov, M. Nurmamatov, Khimmatov, Sh. Suvonov.
The department prepares highly qualified specialists in the following areas: applied mathematics and computer science; methods of teaching informatics. The department has a master's degree in the specialty "Information technology in education".
Teachers of the department conduct classes in the following subjects and scientific disciplines: computer science; basics of programming; protection of information; computer science and information technology; WEB - programming; algorithm theory; software development technology; database management; system and application programming and etc..
The significant contribution to the establishment and development of the department was made by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor I. Jumanov. He is the head of many scientific grants and business agreements. Under his scientific leadership prepared 18 PhD and 1 doctor of science.
Scientific and educational, and methodical works of the department: 7 monographs, 32 books, 14 lecture notes, 28 electronic books, 33 educational and methodical complexes, more than 800 scientific and 300 methodological articles.
The department maintains scientific and creative ties with the Ukrainian State University, Novosibirsk State University, Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, the Institute of Cybernetics of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Belarusian State University and all universities, as well as research institutes related to information technologies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
The department also maintains scientific collaborations with foreign universities, such as: “Prague Development Center” (Czech Republic), “Center of Chinese Academy” (China), “Maritime Information and Communication Institute” (South Korea) and “СМС Limited” (India ), in the framework of projects aimed at introducing new courses into the education process, improving existing educational methods and effectively introducing new information technologies into the education process.
