An international scientific-practical conference on "Soil mechanics and geotechnics" has started at Samarkand State University in cooperation with Samarkand State Institute of Architecture and Construction, Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction, Tashkent State Transport University and "Geofundamentproekt" LLC.

    More than 50 scientists from 12 foreign countries such as the USA, South Korea, Russia, Turkey, Japan, Kazakhstan, Poland, Australia are participating in the conference.

    The prestigious conference was divided into branches such as geotechnical construction problems, geotechnical issues related to preservation of architectural monuments, soil mechanics, contact solutions of structural mechanics.

    - The conference is devoted to a topic of international importance. The most famous scientists of the field are participating in the event, - says SamSU professor Askar Hasanov. - The first part of the conference, which is held every ten years, is related to theory, and the second is related to practice. The opinions and comments expressed during the lectures are of scientific importance for the construction of buildings and structures, transport, hydrotechnical structures. The conference was published in Scopus. Lectures are held in Russian and English.
