The artichoke is a valuable plant used in the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as as livestock feed.
    In the treatment of liver diseases, constipation, diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis, psoriasis, eczema, pancreas, such drugs as synarix, cofitol are prepared from artichoke. Artichoke contains proteins, carbohydrates, vitamin C, carotene, vitamin B1 B2, inulin contains potassium, zinc, selenium, copper, manganese, sodium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium and iron, tannins, and organic acids. The most useful glycoside is cynarine, as well as caffeine, ascorbic and quinic acids used in medicine. The soft (meat part) middle part of the artichoke is used. The artichoke is eaten raw, fried and boiled. Its leaves and roots are used in folk medicine for biliary tract, atherosclerosis and rheumatism.
    Artichoke is a dietary vegetable, easy to digest, and its processed products are used as a substitute for starch in diabetes. Artichoke is used to remove snake venom, treat stomatitis in children, cleanse the body, and treat allergic diseases.
