Melon has been widely used in folk medicine to treat various ailments since ancient times. At one time, Ibn Sina also used melon a lot to treat the sick. The scientist recommended melon pulp in the treatment of tuberculosis, lung cancer, and gout. Melon is used as an expectorant, antitussive and anti-inflammatory agent for constipation and hemorrhoids. The soft pulp and juice of the melon quenches thirst well and calms the nerves.

Melon contains a lot of easily digestible sugars. Therefore, it is not recommended for patients prone to obesity and diabetes. You should also refrain from eating melon for people suffering from allergic diseases.

In addition, the high amount of carotenoids found in melon helps prevent and stop the development of cancer. The anticoagulant adenosine contained in melon activates the breakdown of blood and prevents heart and vascular diseases, such as stroke. Potassium also improves the functioning of the cardiovascular system and stops the development of hypertension.

Taking into account the above facts, healthy people who are not bothered by diseases of the gastrointestinal tract can often eat melon on hot days. Do not forget that melon is a hard-to-digest product, so it is recommended to eat it on an empty stomach.
