At the invitation of Xi'an Jiaotong University, a delegation headed by Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Innovation of Samarkand State University Hakim Khushvaktov is visiting China.

      Khakim Khushvaktov is accompanied by Toshpulat Radzhabov, director of the Institute of Agrobiotechnologies and Food Security, and Shokhrukh Jurakulov, director of the Institute of Human Resource Management and Regional Development.

     On the first day of the visit, the SamSU delegation was received by the Vice-Rector of Xi'an Jiatong University Xi Guang. During the meeting, the activities of the Chinese Center established at Samarkand State University, its goals and objectives were discussed.

      On the second day of the visit, a presentation was held at the Center for Asian and European Studies of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Detailed information was provided about the structure of Samarkand State University and the work carried out, international cooperation, scientific work, and university ranking. A special report was made on agrobiotechnologies and food security, as well as on the Institute of Human Resources Management and Mahalla Development.

      On the third day of the visit, the activities of the Institute of Society and Management Reform of Xi'an Jiaotong University were studied. Issues of cooperation to reduce poverty in Uzbekistan were discussed. An agreement was also reached that at this institute, scientists of Samarkand State University will study for master’s and doctoral studies.

      In addition, representatives of the university got acquainted with the work carried out at Xi'an Jiaotong University to develop water-saving technologies in agriculture and create equipment that is effective in saving water. They witnessed that advances in physics are bearing fruit in agriculture, that is, new technologies are being used in drip irrigation. In order to study the Chinese experience in this area, it was decided that SamSU scientists would conduct research at Xi'an Jiaotong University. Opinions were also collected on the importance of artificial intelligence in agriculture, rational use of water and the relevance of water-saving technologies. Long-term plans have been developed in this direction.
