The GlobeEdit publishing house published the monograph “Archaeogrammatology of picture forms of Sogdian writing” by Bobur Goyibov, professor of the Department of History of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Historical Sciences at Samarkand State University.

      This monograph is devoted to the history of Sogd, considered one of the most ancient centers of world civilization, and the grammar of Sogdian writing. The study explores the formation of Phoenician and Aramaic writing. Based on the sources, the authors' views are shown regarding the fact that in the 2nd century it gave way to Sogdian writing.

      Also, the shape of Sogdian letters in the sources where they are reflected is clearly drawn on the basis of modern computer programs and the sources of the study are very different from other works related to Sogdian studies. The Phoenician, Aramaic, Pahlavi and Sogdian forms of each letter are studied in comparison. In addition, the shapes of the letters were compared with ancient Sogdian letters and their characteristics were analyzed. In addition, a summary of the monograph is also presented in English.

The study is intended for historians, archaeologists, ethnologists, linguists and the general public interested in the history of the Motherland.
