Samarkand State University was visited by professors of Lublin Technical University in Poland Marek Milosz and Yurek Montusevich. The rector of Samarkand State University, scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Rustam Khalmuradov met with the guests.

      During the negotiations, the work on 3D digitization of cultural heritage objects, implemented in cooperation, was analyzed, and long-term plans for the future were identified.

     3D digitization of cultural heritage objects has been carried out since 2015 in cooperation between Samarkand State University and the Lublin Technological University in Poland. As a result of the study, SamSU scientists were able to exchange experiences in Poland and took part in about 10 international conferences on this topic. Also today, the monuments and unique historical monuments of Samarkand located in the museum have been digitized in 3D: Registan, Shakhi-Zinda, the mausoleum of Amir Temur, the Ulugbek observatory, the Afrasiab museum.

   In 2019, scientists won a grant from the Polish Agency for National Cooperation for the 3D digital SilkRood project.

      Under this project, 5 scientific expeditions were organized to Tashkent, Samarkand, Urgench, Khiva, Chirchik, Bukhara. In addition, 4 international conferences, 4 training workshops, 2 virtual exhibitions and 4 photo exhibitions were organized. Published 25 scientific articles, 5 scientific monographs.

      This cooperation will be an important step in the wide use of modern information technologies for the practical application of scientific achievements, as well as for the protection and preservation of cultural heritage sites.
