The establishment of a university on the grounds of the Mirzo Ulugbek Madrasa in ancient Samarkand — a long-standing center of science and knowledge — marked a significant event and a turning point in the cultural and social life of our republic. Since its foundation in 1927 as one of the first faculties of the university, the Faculty of History has grown, matured, and been actively operating.

Currently, the faculty has 893 undergraduate students and 60 master's and doctoral students. Education is provided by 58 academic staff members. Among the academic and pedagogical team, there are 9 Doctors of Science (Professors) and 31 Candidates of Science (Associate Professors, PhDs). The faculty's academic capacity makes up 75%.

The faculty is actively collaborating with higher education institutions in various countries, including:
