In July 2024, Irina Filipova, Head of the Central Asian Research Center for Artificial Intelligence Regulation at Samarkand State University, in order to implement the Erasmus+Jean Monnet project “Artificial Intelligence Regulation: European Approach for Central Asia” (Project 101124510 - AIREA-CA - ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH) took part in two specialized research summer schools on the subject of the project.

    The first school “AI and Law” (organized by the European University, Florence) was devoted to general issues of interaction between artificial intelligence and law, the main lecturers were professors from the Universities of Bologna, Leuven and Pittsburgh. The issues discussed at the summer school were related to AI models of legal reasoning, legal forecasting with the help of artificial intelligence and the main provisions of the recently adopted European Law on Artificial Intelligence.

    The second school “Ethical and Legal Challenges in Ai-Driven Forensic Science” dealt with the impact of artificial intelligence on modern forensics and criminology. The advantages and disadvantages of using AI tools in justice and law enforcement were discussed. The school was organized by the University of Catania (Sicily), the main lecturers were professors from the Universities of Milan, Pisa and Turin, as well as the University of Naples.
