Professor of the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology

Scientific research area:

  • Soft wheat varieties, Genotypic and phenotypic research, Applied selection, Wheat yield

Main results of scientific research:

  • Studied the grain quality indicators, diversity, and significance of ancient and local soft wheat varieties in our country.
  • Researched the genetic potential of grain quality indicators in spring soft wheat with various ecological-geographic origins, selected initial sources with high protein and gluten content for practical selection, and developed high-yielding, adaptive varieties with excellent grain quality.
  • Identified the relationship between external environmental factors and grain quality indicators, and determined optimal regions for growing quality grain.
  • Conducted phenotypic and genotypic screening of local ecotypes of Aegilops L. to assess their diversity and significance, and developed practical recommendations for their use.
  • Identified the tolerance of local D-genome Aegilops L. ecotypes to abiotic and biotic factors under laboratory and field conditions using modern methods, genotyped these samples with molecular-genetic techniques, and developed recommendations for incorporating promising genotypes into wheat selection processes.
