Independent Research for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree

The following individuals can register for independent research for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree:

  • Individuals holding a Master's or Clinical Residency (for medical sciences) diploma, or a higher education diploma (in a relevant specialty);
  • Those who have published scientific articles as per the required norms.

Independent Research for the Doctor of Science (DSc) Degree

For the Doctor of Science (DSc) degree, individuals holding a Candidate of Sciences or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, or equivalent diplomas obtained in foreign countries, and who have achieved significant scientific results after obtaining their degree, can register for independent research.

Scientific organizations and educational institutions accept applications for independent research throughout the year.

Applicants for independent research must apply via the unified electronic system by submitting the following documents to the scientific organization or educational institution:

  • A brief biography;
  • A copy of the Master's or Clinical Residency (for medical sciences) or higher education diploma (in a relevant specialty) for registration as an independent researcher for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree;
  • A certified copy of the work record book;
  • A list of scientific works and their copies;
  • A copy of the Candidate of Sciences or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) diploma or an equivalent foreign diploma for registration as an independent researcher for the Doctor of Science (DSc) degree;
  • A reference from the workplace;
  • A national or international certificate in foreign languages, with at least C1 level for philology fields or B2 level for non-philology fields.
