The Samarkand Civilization Research Center was founded in 2021. There are such cities in a number of countries of the world that are gaining fame and popularity due to their important place in the historical and cultural development of mankind. Along with western and eastern cities such as Athens, Rome, Paris, Baghdad, Damascus, Samarkand is always revered and mentioned in sources under various names. The role of Samarkand in the history of world cultural development is incomparable, and in 2001 it was included by UNESCO in the list of world cultural heritage as "Samarkand - the intersection of cultures." August 25, 2007 celebrated the 2750th anniversary of the city of Samarkand.

    Samarkand's membership in the World Federation of Tourist Cities (WTCF) in 2019 indicates that it will become a global tourist destination in the future. Samarkand is considered one of the 50 cities in the world to visit, and only Samarkand from the CIS countries was considered worthy of this list.

    Today, international interest in the history, culture and modern life of this ancient city is growing every еar. Issues of historical and cultural development of Samarkand are investigated in the framework of special projects at a number of leading scientific centers of the world, UNESCO MOTHI, Oxford, Sorbonne, Bologna, Vienna, Ottawa universities and institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences. From this point of view, the creation of the Samarkand Civilization Research Center at Samarkand State University, located in this city, opened a new page in samarkandology. The study of each historical period of the city of Samarkand is of great scientific and practical importance организована членами кафедры.

    INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OF THE CENTER

    In order to increase knowledge about the history of Samarkand among student youth, the public by conducting and expanding scientific research on the history of Samarkand using the research and experience of leading young scientists, as well as conducting scientific research based on the experiences of leading international centers of the world.

    On May 25, 2022, in the building of the Youth Center and the Faculty of History in Samarkand, together with the Moscow State University, the Department of History of Samarkand organized an international scientific and practical conference "The Historical Significance of Central Asia and the Heritage of Large and Small Caravan Paths." (MITSAY. on the basis of a grant issued by the International Institute for the Study of Central Asia).

    2. In September 2022, a member of the department Mukhtaram Yakubova took part in an international conference in Moscow on the basis of a grant from the Russian Academy of Sciences.

    3. He took part in the primaries of the DAAD "Dialogue of the Gods with the Islamic World" - Hochschuldialog mit der Islamischen Welt. 8 students from Samarkand. 8 students from Bukhara. 16 students from Göttingen. May 16-22, 2023 all in Bukhara, 23-29 in Samarkand. In 2023, Bukhara and Samara students went to Göttingen. We participate in the DAAD project with our project "European Prospects in Dialogue: Research on Central Asia and the West." Teaching professors, whose project is designed for two еars, will go to Germany. In April 2024, Mukhtaram Yakubova, a teacher at the Samarkand Department of History, goes to Germany for a period of 1 month.

    4. Until now, when Marmara University master's student Merwe Akyuz, Oxford University doctoral student Benjamin Scharkeiler arrived on a scientific trip to the university and Samarkand, their activities were organized by members of the department.
