The UNESCO and Government of the People’s Republic of China announce the call for applications for the “Great Wall” Fellowship Program for the 2025/2026 academic year. Within the framework of this program, one-year advanced training courses for researchers (up to 45 years old) and senior researchers (up to 50 years old), as well as one-year study courses for master’s (up to 35 years old) and doctoral (up to 40 years old) programs, will be organized at higher education institutions in China. The international airfare and study-related expenses in China for the winners of the competition will be covered by UNESCO and the Government of the People’s Republic of China.

Applications can be submitted for all fields of study.

Required Documents:

  1. A special application form must be completed online at http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina (2 copies of the form must be submitted along with 3 photos).
  2. A diploma (with transcript) or certificate, along with a certified and translated copy of the academic transcript (notarized copy, translated into English).
  3. An invitation letter from a Chinese university (if prior contact has been established with the university).
  4. Two recommendation letters in English from professors (scholars) who are closely familiar with the candidate’s academic work.
  5. A scientific research proposal for the scholarship (500 words in English).
  6. Certificate of English language proficiency.
  7. A medical certificate (according to the specific form provided in the annex).
