Research of ornamental plants in Samarkand

Today, only decorative trees and plants are planted on the streets, alleys, in public recreation areas. Ornamental plants planted in public places have healing and protective properties. In its own way, it creates a microclimate by absorbing pollution and purifying the air from dust. Considered an important means of protecting residential areas from noise, some plants also have a phytoncidal property that stops the development of pathogens.
Nilufar Abdurashidova, Master of the Faculty of Biology of the Samarkand State University, is conducting a scientific study on the topic “Ornamental trees of the city of Samarkand, their phenology and classification of flower dust”. Her research is aimed at studying ornamental plants in the conditions of the city of Samarkand, their importance as an aesthetic component of the environment, genetic status, and phenological characteristics.
However, plants also play a negative role in shaping the sanitary and hygienic state of urban ecosystems - they also contain allergenic species. The role of pollen as an allergen is very important. The problem of hay fever among urban residents is exacerbated by general landscaping, wind pollination of ornamental tree species, and increased sensitivity to allergens due to habitat changes.
“Currently, environmental pollution has a serious impact on the health of the population,” says Nilufar Abdurashidova. - For this purpose, the need to study and monitor the composition of natural atmospheric air is being determined all over the world. It is known that the air composition of the atmosphere consists of various dusts and biological chemical particles. All this is considered a very important factor for human health. Our research is aimed at determining the phenological characteristics of ornamental plants grown in Samarkand, their species and characteristics that cause allergic diseases. Thanks to this, our main goal is to reduce the negative impact of man on nature, which is increasing day by day.
