On November 15-16, 2022, the Samarkand State University will host an international conference entitled "Pastures of Central Asia: Global Problems and Global Opportunities".

    The purpose of the prestigious conference is to improve pasture management in the countries of Central Asia based on international experiences, to exchange knowledge and experience between foreign and local scientists and professionals in this field, and to unite ideas.

    The conference is divided into the following branches:

    • the current state of the science of pasture science and its new directions;

    • social and economic problems in pasture management;

    • pasture-based livestock breeding and its development prospects;

    • pasture ecology: protection of flora, soil and fauna;

    • education and practice in the use of pastures.

     The deadline for theses is November 5, 2022.

     The thesis is accepted based on the following requirements:

     The thesis includes the subject of the research, the full name of the author(s) and the place of work.

     The thesis should consist of components such as introduction, materials and methods, obtained results and discussion (graphics and tables can be included).

     The abstract can be up to 500 words and up to 7 keywords.

     Materials are accepted in Uzbek, English and Russian languages.

     Selected theses will be published as an article in a special issue of the Scientific Journal of Samarkand State University.

     The conference is organized in cooperation with the US universities of Utah and Nevada, Reno, Iceland's disaster recovery program, and the International Center for Agricultural Research in Arid Regions - IKARDA.

     Scientists from Australia, USA, Germany, Iceland, Hungary, Japan, China, Turkey, Mongolia, Russia and other foreign countries are expected to participate in the conference with lectures.

     A practical seminar on the assessment and management of pastures will be organized in cooperation with the University of Nevada (Reno) and the State University of Utah in the USA in the Karnobchol pastures of the Samarkand region (130 km west of the city of Samarkand).
