In November 1998, I resigned from the post of khokim of the Samarkand region. I took it for granted. Because no one can work in a high position for the rest of their lives. I say these words not out of regret or remorse. I would like to express my life conclusions ... "

      These lines are from the book “Munosib yashamok bakhti” (The Way to Happiness through a Decent Life) about the life and work of Alisher Mardiev, State Counselor of Justice 1st class, a lawyer who served in Uzbekistan, a well-known statesman and public figure.


    
Today, the presentation of this book took place in the Samarkand Regional Department of Justice. The event was hosted by Farmon Toshev, member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, editor-in-chief of the Zarafshon and Samarkand Vestnik newspapers.
      The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan Robakhon Makhmudova, member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, rector of Samarkand State University Rustam Kholmurodov, head of the Samarkand Regional Department of Justice Salokhiddin Nureyev, adviser to the khokim of the Samarkand region Nodir Ibragimov and others. In his speech, N. Ibragimov read out the greetings of the khokim of the region E. Turdimov.


    
In particular, well-known legal scholars, veterans of the prosecutor's office, justice and the judiciary, writers, statesmen and public figures who took part in the presentation, including Alisher Mardiev, spoke about the book.


    
It was noted that the book, published on the initiative of the Supreme Council of Judges of the Republic of Uzbekistan (author Arslon Eshmurodov), is dedicated to the meaningful and difficult life and outstanding work of Alisher Mardiev. The significant contribution of the famous jurist to the development of the jurisprudence of our country is revealed on the basis of unique archival materials and evidence.
      During the event, a special video about the life and work of A. Mardiev was shown. The hero of the event also spoke about the experience, knowledge and skills that he received during his career.
