Bakhtiyor Ergashev is a professor at the Department of History and Source Studies at Samarkand State University, Doctor of Historical Sciences. He is a major scholar-expert conducting research in the field of documentation of the office of the Turkestan Governor-General's Court.

      Bakhtiyor Ergashev is the author of 2 monographs, 2 brochures, 5 textbooks, 6 teaching aids, 6 methodological manuals and more than 120 scientific articles.

      Today, the results of Bakhtiyor Ergashev’s research are widely used in scientific schools of source studies and historiography in countries such as the USA, Germany, England, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.

      The scientist is a member of the editorial board of 2 international and 2 national scientific journals.

      Under the scientific supervision of Bakhtiyor Ergashev, 6 PhD and candidate dissertations were defended.
