Research Field:
Microelements; soil fertility; the effect of microelements on cotton yield; plant physiology
Main Results of the Research:
- Variation of Microelements: The amount of both total and available microelements in the Zarafshan Valley conditions varies among regions and soil types. Their concentrations are related to environmental pH, granulometric composition, humus content, and nutrient availability (r > 0.7).
- Concentration Formulations: Concentrations of microelements used in seed treatment were developed: Co, Cu, and Zn at 0.01%; Mo and B at 0.05%; Mn at 0.1%.
- Effect of Microelements in Saline Conditions: The effect of microelements on seed germination under sulfate and chloride saline conditions was determined, and the types of microelements used under these conditions were identified.
- Cobalt's Effect on Cotton: The impact of cobalt on cotton, its physiological importance, the critical and maximum periods of plant requirement, and the interaction between cobalt and NPK in the nutrition process were determined.
- Optimal Use of Cobalt Micronutrient: The optimal rates, timing, and methods for applying cobalt micronutrient for achieving high-quality cotton yields were identified, along with the improvements in yield and product quality.
