D. in medical sciences, professor. Since 2017, he has been working as a professor at the Department of Ecology and Life Safety at Samarkand State University, and since 2021 he has been the head of the department.

In 1995 Ergash Kobilov was awarded the title of candidate of medical sciences at Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, and in 2006 he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Differential approach to the treatment of acute destructive pneumonia in children" and in 2006 successfully defended his doctoral thesis on the topic at the Scientific Council of Russian State Medical University "The role of laparoscopy in diagnosis and treatment of acute intestinal obstruction in children". Member of the Russian Association of Pediatric Surgeons since 2004, member of the European Association of Pediatric Surgeons since 2017. Doctor of Medical Sciences of Russia and Uzbekistan.

During his career he published 5 monographs, 5 textbooks, 6 textbooks, more than 80 teaching aids. He is also the author of 3 patents, 30 improved proposals, articles and theses, about 350 scientific works. He has published more than 10 articles in international journals. In 2021 he was awarded with the medal "Ўzbekiston Respublikasi soglikni saqlash a'llochisi". Published 2 articles in the journals included in the SCOPUS database.

Zuvaid Izzatullayev

D. in biology, professor. Since 1992, he has worked at the Department of Ecology and Life Safety at Samarkand State University. In 1970, he defended his PhD thesis on "Terrestrial mollusks of Hisar range and adjacent areas". In 1981-1983, he studied at the All-Russian Zoological Institute (ZIN) as a doctor. In 1988, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis on "Aquatic mollusks of Central Asia and adjacent areas. As a result of his research, the scientist has determined the full species composition of Central Asian aquatic mollusks and introduced about 100 new species of mollusks for science. He is the founder of the School of Malacologists of Uzbekistan.

The scientist has published more than 600 scientific, methodical and popular works. Among them 3 monographs, 4 textbooks, about 20 manuals, brochures, texts of lectures and 2 articles in Scopus databases have been published.

Botirov Khidir Fayzievich

Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor. Works at the Department of Ecology and Life Safety of Samarkand State University. In 1980, he successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on the topic “Obtaining sugar beet seeds without seedlings in the Zarafshan oasis”, and in 1996 his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Scientific foundations of winter crop production in the Zeravshan oasis”. In 1998-2005 he worked as an expert at the National Academy of Sciences, and since 2005 he has been a member of the international academies of MANEB and Nuri Khojand.

To date, about 100 recommendations, textbooks, manuals, monographs, about 400 scientific and popular articles of the scientist have been published.

Tukhtaev Mustafa Kurbonovich

D. in medical sciences, associate professor. Since 2018 he has been working as an assistant professor at the department of ecology and life safety at Samarkand State University.

In 1996 he successfully defended his PhD thesis on "Medical and social aspects of peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum and organization of treatment and prevention".

Under the authorship of Mustafa Tokhtayev more than 50 scientific works were published.

Burkhon Fayzullaev

Since 1998, he has been working at the Department of Ecology and Life Safety at Samarkand State University. In 2010, he defended his PhD thesis on "Biological aspects of phytophage population control in the cotton agrobiocenosis of the lower Zeravshan River".

Under the authorship of Burhon Faizullaev published more than 110 scientific papers. In particular, 2 textbooks, 2 manuals, 2 monographs, 1 scientific brochure, 10 educational and methodical manuals, 4 recommendations were published. Also 2 articles were published in the journals included in the Scopus database.

Akzamov Valery Bakhriddinovich

Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences. Since 2020 he has been working at the department of preschool education at SamSU. In 1995 he successfully defended his PhD thesis on "The effect of different concentrations of NaCl on the digestive and transport conveyance of the gastrointestinal tract in rats."

Valery Akzamov has published 4 articles in highly rated prestigious journals of the USA and RF during his career.

Majidova Tanzila Rakhimovna

Since 2002, she has been working at the Department of Ecology and Life Safety at Samarkand State University. In 2007 she defended her PhD thesis on the topic "Influence of biohumus on some agrochemical indicators of soil and productivity of tomatoes in protected ground conditions".

Under the authorship of Tanzila Majidova more than 60 scientific works were published. From them it is published 2 textbooks, 2 textbooks, 2 monographs, 10 educational -methodical manuals. Also the article was published in 2 databases Scopus.

In 2020, she defended her Ph.D. thesis on the topic "Systematics, bioecology and the significance of soil macrofauna of orchards in the Zerafshan Valley."

Oybakhor Niyozova published about 10 monographs, educational, teaching aids, about 20 scientific and popular science articles.

Belialova Leyla Enveronva

D. in biological sciences, associate professor. Since 2001, she has worked at the Department of Ecology and Life Safety at Samarkand State University. In 2001, she defended her PhD thesis on "Bird fauna and its ecological characteristics in the habitats of Northwest Turkestan".

Member of the Executive Committee of the Ornithological Group of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Deputy Chairman of the NGO Zerafshan Council.

Member of the Scientific Council of Zerafshan National Nature Park. Head of the Flamingo Club. She spent her work as a performer and leader of 15 projects.

Leyla Belyalova has published more than 100 educational, training and methodological manuals and scientific and popular science articles.

Keldiyarova Gulmira Farhodovna

Doctor of Philosophy in Technical Sciences (PhD). Since 2021 SamSU has been working at the Department of Ecology and Life Safety. In 2021 she defended her scientific work for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy on the topic "Environmental impact assessment of harmful substances formed at enterprises producing construction materials".

Gulmira Keldiyarova is the author of 1 monograph, 1 textbook, about 70 scientific and popular science articles. She has published more than 45 articles at international and local conferences.

In total she received 3 patents. She has published 5 articles in Scopus journals.

History of the Department of Ecology and Life Safety

In August 1997, it was first opened as the Soil Science and Ecology Department on the initiative of Academician J. Sattorov, who served as Rector of SamSU. This faculty is the only one in the Central Asian region, and later on the basis of the Department of Ecology, Nature Conservation and Plant Protection in a single system under the Faculty of Biology, a new Department of Ecology and Nature Protection at SamSU was created.

In 2001 the department was integrated into the structure of the Faculty of Biology of SamSU. In 2005, it was merged with the Department of Soil Science and Agrochemistry and became known as the Department of Ecology and Agrochemistry. In 1997-2011 the Chair was headed by Prof. Zuvayd Izzatullayev, in 2011-2020 - by Dr. Biological Sciences, Prof. H. Boimurodov.

Since 2020, the department operates under the name "Department of Ecology and Life Safety".

There are currently 10 professors working in the department.

International cooperation: Since the creation of the department its staff regularly maintain scientific relations with universities of foreign countries.

Today the department has permanent partnerships with the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (PFUR), Zhitomir State Pedagogical University of Ukraine, Zoological Institute of RAS, Belarusian State University, Tajik State Medical University, Tajik State University, Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, Irkutsk State University.
