About the Department of Art Studies

In order to ensure the implementation of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on June 30, 2020 № 408 "On measures to organize the activities of the Uzbek-Finnish Pedagogical Institute of Samarkand State University" and the decision of the University Council on July 7, 2021 № 4 - was established Department of sports activities and art, which includes the departments of sports activities, art studies, interdepartmental physical education.

In order to ensure the execution of the decision No.4 of July 7, 2021 by Samarkand State University Council the Departments of "Engineering Graphics", "Fine Arts" and "Music Education" were merged into the Department of Art Studies. By order of the Rector of the University as part of the Faculty of Sports Activities and Arts, the Department of Art Studies began to function on September 3, 2021. At the moment the Department is headed by Associate Professor Mullajonova N.J. Currently, the Department of Art Studies has 33 full professors, teachers (including 30 full time employees and 3 part time employees), 1 Honored Artist of Uzbekistan, 2 full professors, 7 associate professors, 1 Associate Professor, 1 Honored Worker of Culture of Uzbekistan, 3 senior lecturers, 18 teachers. Young professors and teachers of the department are engaged in scientific research.

The main theme of scientific research of the department: "Problems of improving the quality and effectiveness of art and technical sciences on the basis of innovative technologies. Currently, professors and teachers of the department carry out educational, scientific and methodological, research, organizational and methodological, spiritual and educational work.

There are scientific and creative circles at the department. The head of "Musavvir" circle is senior teacher J. Rakhmatov, the head of "Design" circle J. Kholikov, the head of "Applied Art" circle Z. Istamov, the head of "Vocalists" circle is senior teacher M. Murodov, head of the "Gusdasta Choir Collective" circle O. Shodieva, head of the "Doiracilar" circle senior teacher A. Odilov, head of the "Dutorcilar" circle D. Samatova and head of the "Orchestra" circle Sh. Khakkulov.
