Samarkand State University was visited by a delegation headed by Professor Harun Chiftchi, Rector of Chankiri Karatekin University of Turkey. The high-ranking guests were received by SamSU Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Akmal Akhatov.

      The main purpose of the visit is to improve international cooperation between the two universities, to establish the exchange of professors, teachers and students, as well as to conclude agreements.

      During the negotiations, the representatives of the delegation received detailed information about the activities of Samarkand State University, educational laboratories, and the scientific potential of the teaching staff. In addition, he stressed that cooperation with Samarkand State University would be beneficial for both universities.

      The guests got acquainted with the activities of the Scientific Research Institute of Turkic Studies of SamSU and showed great interest in it. He expressed his willingness to cooperate and attract Turkish specialists to improve the activities of the institute.

      - Chankiri Karatekin University is one of the youngest and developing universities in Turkey. Our university has 10 faculties, 7 vocational schools, 2 colleges and 5 institutes. More than twenty thousand students study. 3,500 of them are foreign students, says Chankiri Karatekin University rector, Professor Harun Chiftchi. - Our university is doing a lot of work to establish ties with the Central Asian and Turkic peoples. That is why we considered it expedient to cooperate with Samarkand State University. Basically, we want to negotiate on improving the exact and natural sciences and the agricultural sector.       During the meeting, the head of the delegation put forward a number of proposals for the creation of a joint master's education in the agricultural sector, the establishment of an academic exchange based on the Erasmus program.
