During the working visit of the delegation of the Altai State University to Uzbekistan, the opening of the government center of Altai State University took place on the basis of Samarkand State University. The center will include 4 divisions: the Center for Altaic and Turkic Studies, the Center for Geographic Information Systems, the Methodological Center for the Promotion of the Russian Language and Culture, and the Laboratory for Systematics and Fauna of Terrestrial Arthropods of Arid and Mountainous Ecosystems in Central Asia.

    During the event, Samarkand State University was attended by the head of the International Cooperation Department Mukhtor Nasirov, as well as the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Akmal Akhatov of Samarkand State University. Altai State University was represented by Vice-Rector for Development of International Affairs Roman Raikin, Director of the Institute for the Humanities, Professor of Altai State University Larisa Nekhvyadovich, Deputy Head of the Great Altai Research and Education Center for Altaic and Turkic Studies, Professor of Altai State University Sergey Grushin and Head of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language, Professor of Altai State University Lidia Dmitrieva.

    Also, a meeting was held between the faculty of the Department of the Russian Language of SamSU and Professor of Altai State University Lidia Dmitrieva, in which topics for further development of cooperation were discussed.

    During the visit to SamSU, representatives of AltSU held face-to-face and online discussions with the participation of heads of educational programs, for which joint training of undergraduates and heads of scientific areas is planned.
