Turkey is hit by earthquakes that have claimed the lives of several thousand people. In connection with the natural disaster, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has declared seven days of national mourning.

      President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, expressed his deepest condolences in connection with the large number of deaths and huge losses caused by strong earthquakes that occurred in the southeastern regions of Turkey.

      The heads of state of the two countries discussed issues of practical cooperation in order to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster. After this dialogue, by order of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a group of rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was sent to provide humanitarian assistance to the victims of a strong earthquake in Turkey and participate in the aftermath of the disaster. .

      Today, the rector of Samarkand State University, scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Rustam Khalmuradov visited the Consulate General of Turkey in Samarkand.

      Rustam Khalmuradov was accompanied by Zhuliboy Eltazarov, First Vice-Rector of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road", professor, well-known turkologist.

      In a conversation with Consul General Salih Caner, deep sympathy was expressed for the fraternal people of Turkey, the families and loved ones of those killed and injured as a result of the natural disaster.
