Nobel Prize laureate Aziz Sancar has been awarded the honorary title of "Cultural Ambassador of the Turkic World."

The pride and honor of the Turkic World, a partner and friend of Samarkand State University, Nobel Prize laureate in Chemistry, and professor at the University of North Carolina in the USA, Aziz Sancar, has been awarded the honorary title of "Cultural Ambassador of the Turkic World" by TURKSOY, the cultural and heritage organization of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev presented this high title to the scientist at the "Turk House" named after Aziz Sancar, located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA, in the presence of representatives of the American and Turkish communities.
Receiving the award and medal from the Secretary General of OTS, the prominent chemist emphasized that he had dedicated his entire life to the unity and cooperation of the Turkic World and had long dreamed of such days. He expressed his pride in being honored with the title and medal of "Cultural Ambassador of the Turkic World" by TURKSOY and extended his gratitude to the leadership of the Organization of Turkic States and TURKSOY for recognizing his modest contributions.
