A convenient opportunity is being created for students of Samarkand State University to study foreign languages

At Samarkand State University, together with the language center "IELTS CENTER", a center for teaching foreign languages is being created. With some questions, we turned to Parviz Ismatilloev, the head of the language center.

      - If we talk about the process of creating a center for foreign languages at Samarkand State University, where did the first initiative come from?

     - The requirement for a certificate in a foreign language, which is set for admission to the magistracy, has recently made the need to learn foreign languages a priority among young people. In this regard, Samarkand State University has taken the initiative to establish a foreign language training center in cooperation with the language center "IELTS CENTER" in order to ensure that students interested in learning foreign languages can learn languages at affordable prices and on affordable terms. By mutual agreement, a language center was established, specializing in teaching foreign languages, especially English. SamSU allocated a place for the center in the building of student hostel No. 2 of the university without any rental payments. The classrooms are currently being equipped and preparing for the start of classes.

- At what level can language learners study at the center?

     - Classes will begin in the first decade of March. Students of Samarkand State University who wish to learn a foreign language and receive a language certificate can apply. Initially, students take tests of a certain level in order to study at the center. After that, depending on the results, they will be divided into groups. Groups are formed depending on the knowledge and level of students. The potential of the center is enough to train students of all levels and improve the level of foreign language proficiency. Success in this matter depends on the student.

The center is organized on the initiative of Samarkand State University. Therefore, reduced prices are offered for SamSU students. In the traditional order, prices for courses vary depending on the level, but in our newly created center it is planned to set a single price for all levels, on average, in the region of 300-330 thousand soums. Once the center is fully operational, we plan to further reduce prices as the number of students increases. Currently, 8 teachers with deep knowledge and high potential have been allocated for the newly created center.

Also, according to our agreements with the university administration, teachers of the English Department of Samarkand State University who do not have a language certificate can study at IELTS CENTER for free. Personally, I try to prepare them for level C1.

If the teacher himself speaks the language at a high level, his students will definitely show good results. In this regard, an important factor is that the teachers who teach have strong potential.

   - The school year is almost over. Admission procedures for the magistracy will begin shortly. If the center starts its work in March, will there be enough time before the start of admission to get a good result?

      - I have been working in this field for 12 years. I started my teaching career in 2011. At first I taught English to students at home, and then in various educational centers. To be honest, I have faced many difficulties in my career. However, since it is true that every effort is a sign of success, my student population has skyrocketed since one of my students achieved an 8.0 in IELTS. By 2015, the language center "IELTS CENTER" was created. Since 2018 I have been working as the head of the center. Currently, about 2,000 students study English at the center. We have 2 branches.

Based on my personal experience, I can say that learning a language largely depends on the person. If you work hard and hard, you can achieve the desired result even in 3 months. As I said above, the main responsibility should always lie with the student.

    - Based on personal experience, can you give recommendations on how to quickly and effectively learn a foreign language in a short time?

     - To learn a foreign language quickly and effectively, you must first memorize a lot of words. A convenient way to remember a large number of words is to transfer the studied foreign language into a hobby. For example, if you like to sing, then by memorizing a certain number of words every day, you can sing along to these words. In addition to quickly remembering the learned word, this will make it take a strong place in your memory.

Another way is to communicate more often with other peers who are learning the language. In such communication, one should try to speak even if there is a mistake.

It will also be useful to memorize short texts of 30-40 words. Regardless of the situation and method, you should try to set aside a lot of time for language learning. The more you work on yourself, the faster the result will become known. And most importantly hard work, patience and passion...
