"The referendum is a process that embodies the will of the people"
Samarkand State University hosted an event on the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan" with the participation of the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismoilov.
The event was attended by the rector of Samarkand State University, a scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Rustam Khalmuradov and deputies of the regional, district and city Kengashes.
During the meeting, the rector of Samarkand State University Rustam Khalmuradov emphasized that constitutional reforms are an integral part of the fundamental changes taking place in all spheres of the country's life, creating a solid legal basis for them, ensuring the honor and dignity of a person at the legal level, and adapting our Basic Law to reforms in society.
“Today our country is on the verge of important news and changes,” says Nuriddin Ismoilov, Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Promoting active participation in it, explaining the nature of the changes to the people's representatives is the primary task of representatives of state bodies. Every member of society should take an active part in the referendum, not remaining indifferent to the prosperity and development of our country, the fate of the nation. According to the bill, now the new Constitution is aimed primarily at ensuring a decent life for citizens. Human rights and freedoms determine the nature and content of laws, state bodies and each official and bring them to the level of basic criteria.
