Officials from Samarkand State University participated in the forum of rectors of agricultural higher education institutions of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries.
On September 19-20 of this year, the 3rd Forum of Rectors of Agricultural Universities of SCO Member States took place at Northwest A&F University in China.
At the prestigious event, Hakim Khushvaqtov, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovations of Samarkand State University, and Toshpolot Rajabov, the Director of the Institute of Agrobiotechnology and Food Safety, participated.
During the opening ceremony of the event, Hakim Khushvaqtov delivered a speech titled "Globalization of Education as a Driver of Academic Activity: The Experience of Samarkand State University."
During the visit to Northwest A&F University in China, discussions were held to further strengthen the partnership with Samarkand State University, collaborate on scientific research projects, and address issues related to personnel training. Meetings were specifically held with Professor Luo Jun, the First Vice-Rector, and Professor Li Xuejun, the Dean of the Faculty of Agronomy. The discussions included conducting research in wheat breeding and seed production at the SamDU Institute of Agrobiotechnology and Food Safety, as well as establishing a joint field experimental station. To initiate practical work within the framework of this collaboration and set tasks, a delegation from Northwest A&F University is scheduled to visit SamDU in October of this year.
