    Today we are witnessing a historic event. Together with our fellowmen from Turkey, we were the first in Uzbekistan to establish the Research Institute of Turkology at Samarkand State University.

    I am sure that the Research Institute of Turkology at Samarkand State University will remain a symbol of our eternal fellowship, restored by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

    Today Samarkand is becoming not only the center of science, but also the capital of the Turkic-speaking countries. I am very pleased to realize that Samarkand State University has a unique school of Turkology.

    I am confident that the institute that opens today will become an important institution for the study of modern Turkology.

    Since 2016, Samarkand State University has been cooperating with about 20 prestigious higher education institutions in Turkey. The facts that doctoral students from Turkey are now conducting scientific research at SamSU, and professors from Turkey are teaching students of the Faculty of Philology, are another confirmation of our opinion.

    Of course, it is also wise to open the Research Institute of Turkology during the holy month of Ramadan.

    I am sure that the opening of the Research Institute of Turkology will inspire activities of the founders of Samarkand School of Uzbek Linguistics, such scientists of the Republic of Uzbekistan as Ulug Tursunov, Rakhmatulla Kungurov, professors Khamdam Berdiyorov, Khudoyberdi Donierov, Bozorboy Urinbaev, Abdujabbor Mukhtorov, Vakhob Egamov, Nazar Radjabov, Nosir Abdurakhmanov and Bekmurod Yuldashev.

    Today, the Samarkand School of Turkology is headed by Zhuliboy Eltazarov, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Linguistic Society of Turkey.

    I want to thank Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar, Khokim of Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov, rectors of Istanbul and Marmara universities, and the administration of TIKA.

    The doors of the Research Institute of Turkology of Samarkand State University are open to all our friends and partners in this field.

    I wish you success in the activities of the newly created institute!
