At the Faculty of Mathematics of Samarkand State University, a meeting “Academician and Youth” was held with the participation of the Hero of Uzbekistan, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Shavkat Ayupov. It was attended by students of the Faculty of Mathematics of Samarkand State University and students of the Academic Lyceum at SamSU. The listeners received from the scientist himself enough information about the path traversed by the academician in the field of science, about his achievements.

    - Samarkand mathematical school is one of the most famous and well-known schools of our republic, - says Shavkat Ayupov, - scientific researches are carried out here, which are of great importance not only in our country, but all over the world. For example, such areas as differential equations, mathematical physics. The Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan has been cooperating with Samarkand State University for almost 30 years. Two years ago, a new branch of the Institute of Mathematics was opened at SamSU. University mathematicians and researchers of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly conduct a lot of research. Such work is important for raising the relations of friendship and cooperation between scientific institutions to a higher level.

    In addition, questions and discussions with students allowed listeners to get answers directly from academics to their questions.

    - Today's meeting was full of impressions for me, - says a student of the Faculty of Mathematics Sirozhiddin Bobokulov. - I learned a lot of useful things from a famous academician. The contribution of this man to mathematical science is incredibly great. During the meeting, I was very impressed by the academician's thoughts on the unification of mathematics and technology. Suggestions in particular on issues to be explored in the theoretical and applied aspects of mathematics have been incredibly helpful for students like us who want to do scientific research.
