The story "Jamila" by the famous Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov was recognized as the most beautiful "love story" of the 20th century and has been translated into about 50 languages. The work is told in the language of Seyid, Jamila's brother-in-law, the future artist. The work was written during the war years in the life of the village, the hard life of people, the only link in society: Jamil and Danier and the Seid family, thereby embodying all the horrors of war before our eyes.
War forces not only men to work, but also women and children, old and young. For example, Daniyar is lame in one leg and works tirelessly in the company of healthy people. He is a taciturn, domineering man, has only one thick coat and a busy life. But he cannot be called extremely helpless or poor. Daniyar was also given a magical voice, a gift from the great and powerful Creator, and he created a beautiful song, expressing his love for the Motherland with this voice.
A person reading this in the language of the "skillful" artist boy Seyid will feel as if he has heard this voice. Seid's heart is full of endless love. If not for this, such beautiful and sad songs would not have been created. His silence is not because he knows nothing, but because he knows and feels a lot. At the same time, he has a deep, in a sense rich in memories, mysterious, brooding magical world, visible only to him. Although this beautiful world of his is not described by the author in any place of the work, it is visible in his sad songs, confused with the endless steppe behind these endless eyes, and the murmuring waters of the rivers.
Daniyar, as a hero worthy of love and love, awakens love in the reader without a word, without a gesture. Now let's talk about Jamil:
Jamila is a character who spends unique moments that should be spent with happy and loving people apart. Wasn't it the brutal war that made him act like this?! If he had not lost his beloved, what would he have done with Daniyar? Will there be a place for Daniyar's love in her heart, filled with her husband's love? Suppose there was a war of all peoples. The same disasters will fall on the heads of all peoples. He takes someone away from his beloved, someone from his beloved, someone from a loving father. This does not mean that the wife of a boy who bleeds in war must necessarily run off with someone else. That is, as he said in the Mirtemir epic "Surat":
“Barchinoydek kutganing qani?
Zardobu qon yutganing qani?
Umr yo’lida to yumguncha ko’z,
Birga – birga ketganing qani?
Gunohim ne Jangda bo’lganim,
Qon keshganim, yo bor o’lganim.
Diydoringni unutolmayin,
O’limlardan xatlab kelganim”.
in a way, as if denying Jamila's actions...
But it seems that the writer himself considers Jamila's love worthy of Daniyar, as if this "love story" should belong only to Jamila and Daniyar...
This is what happens when the pure and sincere, innocent world of Jamila connects with the world of Daniyar, the world characteristic of two lovers becomes more ordinary and beautiful.
The most difficult path is the path of "courage". Is it possible to speak out and go down in history without showing courage and heroism? If Jamila showed such courage in love, crossed the borders and did not give her innocent love to Daniyar, Daniyar's love, would a beautiful love story recognized by the whole world be created today?!
