Samarkand State University was visited by a delegation led by the rector of the Italian University of Tuscia Stefano Ubertini.

      Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of Samarkand State University Akmal Akhatov met with the guests.

      During the dialogue, issues of opening an Italian educational center at SamSU and organizing joint educational programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels were discussed. It is planned to begin the exchange of professors, teachers and students, and organize short-term summer school courses.

      An exchange of views also took place on the issues of conducting scientific research on current topics and developing scientific projects in cooperation. In June 2024, an agreement was reached to hold “Tushia Days” at Samarkand State University, create student exchange programs, and open joint educational programs.

      Following the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed.

      For information, the Italian university is in 601st place in the international ranking of Times Higher Education. At the same time, it is a leading university in the fields of agrobiotechnology, fruit and viticulture, climate change and forestry.
