During a two-month internship, he was engaged in research in the field of plant ecology and isotopes. Based on these studies, expeditions were organized to the unique desert, hilly and mountainous ecosystems of Israel. He also experimented with Mediterranean flora with Prof. Tamir Klein, head of the university's tree laboratory.
During the study, samples of oat plants (Tamarix negevensis, Tamarix nilotica, Tamarix aphylla) were collected and sent to the Trier University Geobotany Laboratory in Germany to study its drought and salt tolerance properties.
- On the basis of a scientific grant, I came to Israel for a two-month internship at the Weissman Institute of Science, says Akbar Akhmedov, lecturer at the Department of Botany of SamSU. – I really liked the atmosphere here. I got effective results in two months of research. In addition, I spent two months at the Faculty of Plant Ecology of the Vaisman Scientific Institute, doing workshops on the harlequin plant in the regions of Central Asia.
