According to the decision of our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the 630th anniversary of the birth of the great universal scholar and famous statesman Mirzo Ulugh Beg is being widely celebrated in our country

     The event, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the Samarkand Regional Administration, and Samarkand State University, began with participants visiting the Mirzo Ulugh Beg Observatory, where they laid flowers at the base of the statue of the great scholar.

    The conference was attended by around 40 scientists and researchers from countries such as the USA, Russia, China, Canada, France, Turkey, South Korea, and Iran.

    The international conference was opened with presentations by Rustam Kholmurodov, the rector of Samarkand State University and a prominent scholar of Uzbekistan; Otabek Makhkamov, the deputy minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Bahrom Abduhalimov, the vice president of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan; Xusen To'xtayev, the deputy governor of Samarkand region for youth policy, social development, and spiritual-educational work; Shukhrat Egamberdiyev, director of the Institute of Astronomy of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan; and Frederique Bressand, president of the Tamerlane Society in France.

   During the conference, presentations were made on Mirzo Ulugh Beg's works "Zij-i Jadid" and "The History of the Four Nations."

   The event continued with discussions divided into sections on sponsorship and patrons in Eastern astronomy, as well as the scientific and cultural life during the time of Mirzo Ulughbeg.
