A scientific and practical conference dedicated to the birthday of Alisher Navoi on the topic "The role of Alisher Navoi in world science and culture" was held at the Faculty of Philology of Samarkand State University. The event was opened by the First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual and Educational Work of SamSU, Professor Shahzoda Negmatova, who wished success to the conference participants.
At the conference, Navoi scholars delivered lectures on the topics “Studying the life and work of Alisher Navoi in Russia”, “The significance of the prose works of Alisher Navoi in our time”, “Kamol Khojandi and Alisher Navoi”, “Studying the work of Navoi in Germany”.
- Interest in the work of Alisher Navoi is increasing over time. The works of the poet are translated into different languages, studied and researched,” says Orasta Omonova, a doctoral student at the Department of Classical Literature of SamSU. - The works of the poet in Germany and nearby regions, or rather copies in German, also belong to the distant past. The translation of Navoi's works into German was for the first time carried out indirectly through translation into European languages. Russian, Italian, English, French and a number of other languages acted as mediators. So, we can conclude that the first German translations were made not from the original, but through English, French and other languages, and this was of great importance in the transfer of Uzbek classical literature to German-speaking readers...
During the conference, the theater group "Followers of Behbudi" under the artistic direction of Dilafruz Jabborova, Associate Professor of the Department of Literature and Literary Theory of the period of independence of SamSU, presented the drama "Usmon Nosyr".
