The cooperation between Samarkand State University and higher education institutions of India will be elevated to a higher level.

A delegation led by Harivansh Narayan, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha — the upper house of the Indian Parliament — visited Samarkand State University.
The distinguished guests were welcomed by Rustam Kholmurodov, Rector of Samarkand State University, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the state and prospects of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and India, as well as cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and science.
Harivansh Narayan acknowledged the relevance of the recent international conference on climate change held in Samarkand. He also proposed initiatives to strengthen friendly relations between India and Uzbekistan and to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of higher education, science, industry, manufacturing, and tourism.
Rector of Samarkand State University, Rustam Kholmurodov, emphasized that strengthening cooperation with India’s leading higher education institutions, organizing academic exchanges of professors, researchers, and students, conducting joint scientific research, and training qualified personnel would be beneficial for both sides.
During the meeting, recent changes in the education system, prospects for cooperation between higher education institutions, and strategic approaches in this regard were discussed.
