The director of the Institute of Agrobiotechnologies and Food Safety, Toshpulot Radzhabov, met with the guests.

      Members of the visiting delegation from the state of Utah, USA, discussed issues of protecting the natural vegetation and wildlife of Uzbekistan and the possibilities of financing scientific and practical projects in this area.

      Taking into account the vast experience in managing and restoring meadow ecosystems in the USA, Toshpulot Radjabov and Akbar Akhmedov, associate professor of the Department of Botany of Samara State University, gave lectures on grasslands of Uzbekistan, their ecological and socio-economic importance in the region and current problems of grassland protection. In addition, members of the delegation were provided with detailed information about SamSU’s strong ties with the University of Utah and the University of Nevada and the practical work being carried out today.

      Members of the delegation recognized the similarity of the vegetation cover of pastures in Uzbekistan and the United States, the problems that arose in the process of using pastures in conditions of climate change, and the availability of opportunities to solve them.

      At the end of the meeting, members of the American delegation agreed to establish strong relations with The Stirling Foundation and Samara State University in the direction of studying and protecting pastures.
