Scientists and students of the Faculty of History of Samarkand State University are conducting archaeological excavations at the medieval monument of Navbogtepa in the Samarkand district of the Samarkand region.

    While excavations are part of the scientists' research, archeology students practice in the area.

    “As a result of the excavations, architectural remains in the form of cities were revealed,” said Akbar Nazarov, a doctoral student at the Department of Archeology of the Samara State University. “Initially, we were able to identify the remains of mudbrick and fired brick houses, earthenware, pottery, jewelry, supa (raised clay platform for sitting) and stoves.” Archaeological excavations are underway on the territory.

    For your information, in 2019, scientists from Samarkand State University, together with the Institute of Archeology, conducted the first excavations in this area.
