During the week, a training seminar was held for teachers and students of universities on the topic “Mathematical Science and the Latest Mathematical Research in India”. The training was attended by professors, researchers and students of the Mathematics Faculty of Samarkand State University.
Tirunelveli Nelliappan Shanmugam as a professor of mathematics has published more than 130 research papers in various prestigious national and international journals. The professor conducted research in mathematics at universities in Japan, Malaysia, Norway, South Korea and the USA. His main scientific research is a complex analysis of the theory of geometric functions. He has lectured in mathematics at Anna University, Hindustan University, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Egypt, USA, Sultanate of Oman, Germany and France.
The workshop also featured open discussions on the history of mathematics and current research on the development of mathematics in India, as well as recent mathematical research.
In the afternoon, a task was organized for teachers and students of the Samarkand State University on the topic "Cultural Geography: Special Focus on India" with the participation of Dr. Atar Zafar, Senior Research Fellow at the Office of International Affairs of India.
Dr. Atar Zafar leads the Training Center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), established in 2021. He has been involved in academic research on Central Asia, the South Caucasus, the Caspian Sea and influential regional organizations, including the SCO and the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). In addition to scientific activities, he participates in the academic dialogue "India-Central Asia" and the annual meetings of the SCO forum.
In the presentation, the scientist spoke about Indian traditions, rituals and customs. During the event, students received answers to their questions.
