On the occasion of the 540th anniversary of the birth of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, the Faculty of History of Samarkand State University held a spiritual and educational event on the topic "The role of the heritage of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur in the development of Eastern statehood and culture."

      The event was attended by the faculty and students of the Faculty of History of SamSU. The lecturers of the Faculty of History gave lectures on such topics as "The role of the creative heritage of Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur in the spiritual and educational development of mankind" and "The contribution of Babur's heritage to the development of Eastern statehood and culture."

   - Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur was a writer, poet, scientist, who occupied a special place in the culture, literature and poetry of the Middle Ages of the East, as well as a major state and military leader, - says the senior lecturer of the Department of History and Source Studies of SamSU, Doctor of Philosophy in History Tokhir Mahmudov, - Babur with his broad outlook and perfect mind, he founded the Babur dynasty in India and became famous as a statesman in the history of this country, and took a firm place among the famous historians of the world with his work “Babur-name”, written in Uzbek. Babur, a just king and a great poet, left an indelible mark on the history of the spiritual culture of our people as a historian, lyricist and scientist who contributed to the solution of social problems with his famous works. His elegant ghazals and rubaiyat are among the rarest masterpieces of Turkish poetry.

      Also during the event, artistic performances prepared by talented students of the Faculty of History were presented.

      At the end of the event, the ceremony of awarding the winners of the video contest "Yosh notiq tabrigi" was held.
