The issues of cooperation with Chinese scientists in the agricultural sector have reached a new level...
Samarkand State University was visited by a delegation headed by Prof. Luo Jun, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the Southwest University of Agriculture and Forestry of the People's Republic of China.
Hakim Khushvaktov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Innovations of Samarkand State University, talked to the Chinese scientists.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in education and research in the agricultural sector. In particular, an agreement was reached with the Institute of Agro-biotechnologies and Food Security on implementation of scientific projects on topical areas of agriculture, establishment of joint laboratories, establishment of exchange of teaching staff and students. In particular, it was decided that priority should be given to research aimed at creating new drought-resistant varieties of wheat and cotton, which are considered strategic crops in our country, and increasing their productivity. The Southwestern University of Agriculture and Forestry has achieved great results in this field, and members of the delegation agreed to cooperate closely in transferring and adapting these technologies to the conditions of Uzbekistan.
Recall that in January this year, the delegation headed by SamSU Vice-Rector Hakim Khushvaktov visited the Southwest University of Agriculture and Forestry, where issues of cooperation were agreed upon.
