In January 2024, a delegation led by Professor Dilfuza Dzherakulova, Dean of the Faculty of History of Samarkand State University, visited Yeungnam University in South Korea. During the visit she met with the heads of the Departments of History, Cultural Anthropology and Museology of this university. During the dialogue, issues of cooperation were discussed, symposia were organized and experience was exchanged.

A practical result of international cooperation was the visit of a delegation headed by Professors Kim Jae Young and Lee Eun Jeong from Yeungnam University to SamSU.

During the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the SamSU Faculty of History and the Department of Cultural Anthropology of Yeungnam University.

After the official meeting, an event titled "Cultural Exchange of Uzbek and Korean Peoples" was held. At the event, national traditions of our peoples were shown, national musical instruments were sounded.

After that, an international event titled "Academic Symposium and Mutual Cultural Exchange" was held. Scholars from SamSU and Yeungnam University participated in the conference with interesting lectures on the history of the two countries.

Lee Eun Jeong, Director of the Department of Museum Studies, Yeungnam University, Professor:

    - This is my first visit to Samarkand. I have always dreamt of visiting this famous historical city. Samarkand is truly an open-air museum. One is distinguished by its history and culture. It is impossible not to take a closer look at the Registan complex. Each pattern, corner is made with taste. The buildings are luxurious and attractive. I am glad to take part in the international conference organized in Samarkand State University. I am grateful to the organizers. The event was held at a high level. It is important for us to share our experience in Samarkand.

Kim Dae Wook, a professor at Yeungnam University:

    - It was a pleasure to get acquainted with the activities of Samarkand State University. I was pleased that the university has a rich 600-year history. I was greatly impressed by the archaeology in the museums of Samarkand State University and Afrosiab in Samarkand. The work of Korean professors and researchers at Samarkand State University is highly commendable. Seeing the wall paintings of ancient Korean ambassadors in the Afrosiab Museum, I witnessed once again that our peoples have established relations since ancient times. I discovered a new history.

For your information, in February this year, a research center on "Human Resource Management and Samaul Learning" was opened at Samarkand State University in cooperation with Yeungnam University....
