Samarkand State University has become a member of the international alliance “Innovations in Agricultural Education and Research on the Silk Road” of the People's Republic of China.

 On July 10 of the current year, the 9th International Forum “Cooperation in Agricultural Education and Research on the Silk Road” was held in Tashkent.

 Within the framework of the conference, Chairman of the Alliance, President of Southwest University of Agriculture and Forestry of China Wu Puthe presented Samarkand State University with a certificate of membership of the Alliance. Hakim Khushvaktov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of Samarkand State University, received the certificate.

 The leading agrarian universities and scientific centers of about 30 countries of the world are members of this alliance. Membership in the alliance gives an opportunity to get acquainted with the advanced achievements in the field of agriculture in China and other developed countries of the world, to exchange experience, train personnel and implement scientific projects together with these leading universities.

 Within the framework of the forum, a special meeting was organized with the participation of Wu Puthe, SamSU Vice-Rector Hakim Khushvaktov and Director of the Institute of Agrobiotechnology and Food Security Toshpulot Rajabov. During the dialog they discussed issues of bringing cooperation between the parties to a new level in the agrarian sphere. It was decided to conduct scientific research to create new varieties of wheat resistant to drought and soil salinity. For information, this Chinese university has achieved significant results in the creation of wheat varieties.
