A public lecture by the renowned Italian scientist and prominent figure in computational physics, Lusiano Rezzolla, was organized at Samarkand State University in collaboration with New Uzbekistan University. He is one of the creators of the first images of black holes.

Lusiano Rezzolla presented his research on the first image of a black hole, describing it as a mysterious window into the universe.

For reference, Professor Lusiano Rezzolla is the head of the Department of Theoretical Physics at Goethe University in Germany, and his Hirsch index is 104.

Bobomurod Ahmedov, a scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is an academic:

    - Stars are born, live, and die like humans. If a star is very massive, it can evolve into a black hole at the end of its life cycle. Black holes have been a focus of astronomers, with the first results obtained in 1916. In 2017, black holes were first photographed using a special radio telescope. The results were analyzed for two years, leading to the publication of the first image of a supermassive black hole. Shortly thereafter, the image of the "Arrow Shooter" galaxy was also captured. Professor Lusiano Rezzolla played a significant role in the imaging of both objects. As a result of these scientific research efforts, one of the largest scientific grants in Europe was obtained. Three leading teams are working on this grant. Professor Lusiano Rezzolla's visit to Uzbekistan, particularly Samarkand, is a historic event. It should also be noted that the astrophysicist has collaborated with several Uzbek researchers over the past 30 years. One of them is Farrukh Fattoyev, a graduate of Samarkand State University, who is currently a professor at Manhattan College in the USA. The organization of such lectures is important for scientists in the fields of astronomy and physics.

    Lusiano Rezzolla, Gyote universiteti professori:

    - I am glad to be in Uzbekistan. Especially being in the homeland of the great scholar Mirzo Ulugh Beg fills me with pride. Today, I gave a lecture on black holes at Samarkand State University. My presentation generated great interest among the attendees, and I answered their questions. The research conducted by the scholars at SamDU on black holes is also intriguing to me. I have worked with several Uzbek researchers, and they have left a good impression on me. If I have the opportunity to collaborate with Uzbek students and researchers again, I will certainly take it. I plan to hold regular lectures in Uzbekistan.
