The Uzbekistan-China Plant Breeding and Seed Production Center will be established at Samarkand State University.
A delegation led by Mi Jianhua, Vice President of China's Southwest Agricultural University, visited Samarkand State University.
The rector of Samarkand State University, Rustam Kholmurodov, a prominent scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with the distinguished guest.
During the meeting, cooperation issues were discussed. It was agreed to establish the Uzbekistan-China Plant Breeding and Seed Production Center at Samarkand State University. The center is planned to develop new varieties of wheat resistant to drought and salinity.
The parties agreed to establish an exchange program for professors, teachers, and students, publish collaborative research works, and send researchers for internships. Furthermore, it was decided to set up joint laboratories and experimental test sites for testing wheat varieties.
At the end of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed.
